左の写真は先月お引渡しをしたお宅の洗面化粧台です。木製カウンターで下地を作り、TOTOの病院用流し（ＳＫ１０６）をはめ込んで、シャワー付水栓を立てました。
出来合いの化粧台を設置するよりは手間が掛かりますが、ちょっと良いですよね。
カウンターの天端と前面に張ってあるのは、イタリアから輸入した石（タイルではなく）だそうです。だそうですって無責任な言い方ですが、実はこれ施主ご夫婦で張られたんです。そうセルフビルドです。奥様の憧れの化粧台のイメージにご主人が協力された形です。たまたま弟さんが石材の輸入会社にお勤めで、ご希望の材料を探してプレゼントしてくれたのだとか。
作業当日はご夫婦と弟さんが協力して、石を磨いたり、並べたり、張ったりと楽しそうにされていたのが印象に残っています。（私は床に蜜ロウワックスを塗るお手伝いを少しだけしました）
このお宅では子ども部屋の壁はご夫婦とお父さんが珪藻土の塗り壁にも挑戦されました。
家づくりに積極的に参加していただく事、それをサポートすることも私たちの大切な仕事だと思っています。参加してみると職人さん技が凄さが身をもって感じられます。手づくりの難しさと良さが同時に体験できます。そして自分でつくった家だという愛着が家族に芽生えます。多少の失敗は気にならなくなり、大らかになります。コストも安くできます。
私はセルフビルドのメリットは大変大きいと思っていますので、最近では施主の作業への参加をお願いしていますね。造るって楽しいですよね。上手に出来なくてもいいんです、自分の家なんですから。上手くいかないで苦労した方が、家族の思い出になるんじゃないかな。
日曜大工やＤＩＹに全く無縁の方でも結構できますから、家づくりに参加してみましょう。

確かにセルフビルドは建物にいい意味で愛着が湧きますよね。
私も施主様にできるだけ家造りに参加していただくようにしています。
でも女房だけは私の思うようにセルフビルドできません。トホホ
セルフビルドの為の本が売れている、と出版社の方に伺いました。効率優先する方と、ロハスを優先する方と価値観が大きく二分されてきているのかもしれないですね。
さて、はいからさんペット用、正式発売となりました。セルフビルドはもちろんアンチエイジング臭対策にもご利用下しさいませね。
確かにセルフビルドを考える方が増えてきているようですね。
私は家族の目（もっぱら女房の目？）が怖くてできませんけど。
そのうち機会をねらってやってみようかな、と思っています。
（会社の倉庫に眠っているものを利用したりして・・・）

ＳＫ１０６は大きくて良いんですが、底が浅いので水はねにはご注意を。簡単な洗濯には使いやすいと思いますよ。
